Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to increase Regional Original Income (PAD) in tax sector supposed to be balanced with adequate amount of officers. In West Jakarta, there are only 13 officers, while listed taxpayers are more than 1,000 and would likely increase because this year there will be re-registration of new taxpayers.

“ We are lacking of human resources. There are only 13 officers now, while the taxpayers are more than 1,000 plus the new data ,” stated Head of West Jakarta Tax Services II Sub-Department, Supendi Daud, Sunday (6/15).

According to Daud, limited officers constrain socialization, examination, and billing collection to taxpayers. Meanwhile, tax potential in West Jakarta is quite high with 159 hotels, 809 restaurants, 99 entertainment venues, and 76 parking areas. That excludes commercial tax.

“That is 2013 data, exclude this year which taxpayers may increase,” he told.

Even so, Daud informed that this year’s tax income is increasing. From five sectors of income, namely hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, parking areas, and commercial, the income this year is Rp 706 billion from previously Rp 303 billion in 2013.

“There is 120 percent of tax increase, from Rp 303 billion to Rp 706 billion this year,” he said.
